Reel # 1 of the 1969 Short Course is the only reel for which Ogden left notes. The notes indicate that each section was to be 5 minutes long, with two sections recorded per tape.

Reel #1 indicates the titles for the first section's subsections as PBM TOOLS, BEH CHART, COUNTERS, TIMERS, 4 STEPS, BPA, and BEH BANK.

The second section is listed as 4 STEPS TO SUCCESS.

Of particular interest in this recoding is the suggestion that the Standard Behavior Chart was initially considered to have a minor role in behavior management; the impact of charting was a surprise.
